I had Open Heart Surgery twice in April 2019 to repair a Thoracic Ascending Aortic Aneurysm. Was in a months in total. After surgery I was in a month with infections and various bouts of AFIB. I was initially on Amiodarone.
3 weeks later I had other bouts of Afib brought on by Pneumonia and Sepsis. Spent a week in my local hospital. 1.25mg of bisoprolol was added and I've been on that ever since. I was eased off Amiodarone about 3 months later.
End of November early December 2019 I was readmitted again to my local hospital for another week with an unidentified severe respiratory infection where I had tachycardia this time. Both my Cardiologist and GP think it was most likely Covid19.
Now since then I've had no issues at all with my heart. I recently had surgery for a Cranial CSF Leak in May( more surgery planned). Still no real heart issues.
But in the last 4 weeks my heart rythm has been all over the place. Saw my GP who referred me back to cardiology. Although when I saw him my heart rate was in normal rhythm.
However, I'm now noticing a lot of double beats, a quivering feeling and it sometimes feels as though the air is getting vacuumed out my lungs. Though I don't feel breathless in the sense I would when running or exercising etc.
My ECG watch has shown Afib and inconclusive ( neither afib nor normal heart rhythm) on a number of occasions. I dont know the accuracy of watches. I'm also on losartan, aspirin and artovastatin as well as bisoprolol.
I'm at cardiology next Tuesday for tests. I think I'll be on a machine for half an hour to an hour.
Has anyone experienced this and should I be concerned.
