Good luck . Take care .

Everybody if different depending on the heart condition. I had mine in for 10 years without a shock then I has lots over a short space of time. Talk to your Cardiologist/ Specialist Nurse/GP to see what else is being done to manage your condition. It may be that this can be adjusted.

Hi It is there for a reason and it appears that you needed to to operate. I assume you have a bedside monitor which should keep your hospital updated. If not I suggest you call the hospital. I've had mine for nearly 3 years and it hasn't operated yet although the hospital did call to say that my heart was in Afib - which is now sorted - good luck

3 full blown shocks in 3 years and hundreds of corrections of dangerous rhythms. I felt the shocks ⚡ but not aware of the corrections

My old one shocked me 5 times in succession, I ended up in hospital. They removed my older one and fitted a defib and pacemaker 2 years ago. Touch wood not had any shocks since then. Take care. X

How do the shocks feel when the ICD kicks in?

It’s really hard to describe … it’s weird ..just proper uncomfortable… one or two would have been ok over and done with but I got 25 in a row … but I think that was because I had to come off medication before my ablation… heartrate normal now since ablation so no more shocks yet …so far so good 😃….have you been fitted with one ??
