My hay fever has been playing up the last few days. I think it’s tree pollen. My husband’s started with it too. Maybe the dizziness can be attributed to this as it does affect the inner ear. You can get headaches with it too.
I have had the exact same symptoms in the last couple of weeks. Dizzy and low blood pressure. In addition quite a lot of diarrhoea. I researched the statins, the beta blocker and the bisoprolol. We need the statins and beta blockers, the bisoprolol is to help with the blood thinners. I cut out the bisoprolol and was better (not perfect) in 2 days. Now I have very mild heartburn discomfort occasionally.
Is this correct? After stents implanted, your BP became lower but your BP med/s remained the same?
If this is correct, and you are experiencing symptoms when systolic goes down to 90/s, then yes please consult the doctor about reducing BP med/s. You don't want to leave it too long and end up fainting or falling down.
Your post echoes my current situation very closely. I too had stents last year, and was prescribed clopidogrel, aspirin, and shortly after lansoprazole. I suffered dizziness, some blurred vision, and trembling/weakness in my legs. My blood pressure & heart rate are both very low, but I am still taking amlodipine which I have been on for about 15 years.
It was thought the clopidogrel was causing these symptoms, so I was changed to ticagrelor. I have been on this for 4 weeks now, but my symptoms are even more severe.
I suspect all along the lansoprazole is the culprit..........
Fortunately I am seeing my cardiology consultant this Tuesday, so I will ask him to review all my meds.
Btw, my GP also said my problem might be due to panic attacks & anxiety, stating along with palpitations, high blood pressure & heartrate, these symptoms are common. I reminded my GP that I don't have palpitations, high blood pressure & high heartrate........
Doctor thought I was worrying about having stents but on reading lansoprasole side effects it states trembling weakness dizziness headaches etc. So I have stopped taking them from thurs so i will see if that helps.
Lansoprazole is just to protect your stomach from the aspirin and ticagrelor and shouldn't drop your BP. I would suggest you keep a record of your BP maybe twice or 3 times a day then speak to your GP and give them the results. Sit down for 5 minutes before taking your BP each time.
A low BP isn't an issue according to the research. High BP on the other hand.....
It sounds like the bisoprolol to me.
Problem is, they prescribe generically rather than individually. I guess they don't have the time to consider each patient as a person in their own right.
