Ringing in ears

I suffer from ringing in my ears and sometimes giddy spells, my LAD is over 70% blocked, I am going to hospital on Tuesday for an angiogram with possible stent fitting, has anyone else had ringing in ears due to this issue, if is did the stents help!

Just wondering..if your on beta blockers? This can be a side effect with those, especially bisoprolol apparently.

Yes I am on those, so it might get better if they take me off them

I’m feeling fine, no symptoms. Have been given a telephone app with cardiologist on 22nd of April...so guessing that she’ll tell me whether it’s another go at stents or heart bypass surgery. As I feel ok, i’m tempted to say just leave it alone!

But sense will probably prevail....I know there’s a problem and maybe better to get it fixed before I get too much older as recovery from surgery may be easier now than in say 3/6 yrs...that’s of course if I make it that far😂

I am sure whatever they decide will be for the best, the way I look at it stents or bypass is much better than a heart attack while out walking by ones self or driving and crashing, seeing how my family have suffered from the stress of me going through this make me say get it done, but at the end of the day it’s your choice. Think of the things you could do if your Heath is restored to years gone by.

Hi boxroad. Hope it all went well on Tuesday. If you're feeling up to it I'd be really interested in your experience and what it was like. Going through the same thing myself soon but have no date yet.

Hi yes it went well, I didn’t feel a thing, I didn’t need any stents so I have stable angina heart disease treated with the same meds as I was already taking. No bruising on wrist at all, they said the CT scan often shows the arteries to be more blocked than they are. When and where are you going

Have you had the tube put in the arm upto the heart yet?

No not yet. Had the CT scan with the dye which showed a 50 percent blockage and am just waiting to get a date for the angiogram. Glad to hear it went well and wasn't too painful. Bet it feels good to have it behind you.

Will be at the Freeman in Newcastle too. Have heard good things about them.

I don’t suppose they will do anything with only 50% blockage, don’t worry about the angiogram there is nothing to it. I arrived at the hospital at 7am and was all done by 8.20, only about 20 min op tho, when they said it was all finished I was still thinking they hadn’t started, it then takes about four hours before you can go home just to make sure your arm heals ok I went in with over 70% blockage a man beside me had over 70% blockage with the CT Scan with the dye, but he came out with a clear as well, one man had stents fitted he was only in op for 45 mins and was eating a sandwich within 30 mins of comming out. Just take something to read

Thanks boxroad. Glad it went well for you. That does make me feel much better. I'll just have to wait and see I suppose and I'll be sure to take a good book!
