I had the monitor 10/11th of this month. The report says that it demonstrates atrial fibrillation throughout with some bradycardia episodes. Minimum heart rate was 27 bpm. There were 26 pauses with the longest being 2.85 seconds. They had already reduced my Nebivolol but decided to stop immediately Digoxin. The cardiologist has not recommended a further tape. I understand what the letter is saying but there is no follow up or future plans. Where does it leave me? Is it bad, good or middling? Any comments please.

Hi , not good news but people do have constant afib and lead a normal life. My hubby is in afib, he takes blood thinners. I would be tempted to ask for some clarification on your situation.

Access to clarification is so hard to get now. The heart failure nurses are trying to set up an appointment with me at the local hospital but it may be weeks. Then I have to get there as I no longer drive thats not easy as its a few miles. Any question I ask of heart nurses that is to do within h outcomes and future treatments has to be discussed with cardiologist then referred back to me. Diffic5ult times for us all!

Have you tried the BHF Heart Helpline cardiac nurses for information on what to do while you wait for your appointment?

You may find this BHF page on AF helpful as well:

Remember, the waiting really is the worst part - having sources for information during the wait is never a bad thing. Keep us posted as you go on.

No I haven't tried that but I think the time has come. Its too much to receive worrying news and be alone with no one to talk to and no one to get advice from. My g.p. only does phone calls booked 3 weeks in advance which leaves you with 999 if things get serious.
