Phoned up for result of 24 Hr monitor .got them after 5 weeks , but not from the gp but just a receptionist ,who just read it out ,which i knew from the start i was not going to understand , after finish reading it out ,she said you might want to book an appointment to see the Gp to explain it, i was hoping the gp would phone me . I was hoping that they would leave a note saying to book an appointment to see them but not even that, just the receptionist suggesting i MIGHT want to book an appointment., i know its not her fault . just annoying still in the dark.

Hello :-)

I was going to say celebration time but as you could not understand it and I would not be able to either not quite there yet

However the Doctor usually has read it before it gets put on your notes so I would have thought if there was anything alarming they would have said you needed to make an appointment and got the receptionist to phone you so take that as a bit of a positive they have waited for you to contact them and I hope while you were on you managed to make an appointment and it is soon :-)

Let us know how you get on :-) x

After hospital cardio treatment I find the aftercare to be very hit and miss and results from tests etc are only found when you actually chase them up !

Hi

2 plus sides, you have the results, so that's good, they haven't been lost in the system, and secondly if there was anything really badly wrong the Dr would be calling you.

Downside you are still in the dark re what they mean and you have to try and get an appointment

You have come this far just one more step, in a perfect world we wouldn't have to jump through all these hoops but hey ho chin up, you will get there

Disgraceful, isn't it? There's no customer service at all. No competition you see, they can treat you however they want. It's scandalous in this day and age.

Exactly the same happened to me, told I had a serious heart problem by the receptionist who told me the doctor would ring me to explain, when he did he didn't know anything about it, obviously working from home ! I have since declined surgery because of the lack of aftercare. All the gp seems to do is dispense pills.
