Flutters, palpitations & movement sensation

Michael-in-London profile image

Hi all,

I have been having what I think are heart palpitations felt in my throat as flutters and also my aorta / abdomen. They are often random but also sometimes seem to relate to digestion and stress.

In the last few days I've noticed a strange feeling in the far left chest and sometimes right, very hard to expain, like maybe a small brief water trickle or something.

Does anyone relate to these symptoms?

Thanks,

Michael

Absolutely Michael!. Mine are crippling me at the moment. Movement, swallowing, talking all set it off for me. I can't lie on my back now as it triggers it all. There's a bit of research online on arrythmia produced by gastric movement. The trickle feeling for me is worse once the anxiety kicks off so I've assumed it's nerve & muscles responding to adrenaline. Dave

Hi Michael,

I can relate to the feeling in your throat as flutters.. it’s almost like butterflies in your stomach but high up in the chest/Throat.

I have had a 24 hour tape(ecg) and both cardiologist and GP said they are ventricular eptopics and nothing to worry about.

As soon as I was told they are nothing to worry about I stopped having them except on the odd occasion I went looking for them!

It’s worth mentioning to your GP or Cardiologist and they can look into it, you shouldn’t ignore things.. I went to hospital on the way back from the gym because of a different pain.. while queuing outside A&E (COVID) I almost talked my self out of waiting and put it down to a pulled muscle in my neck, I was having a heart attack.
