Just had to use my gtn for the first time in 10 months. I’ve been really good and then those old feelings are back. It’s been a year since my stent. Gtn worked and feel ok now. Should I go to AandE ? Or call the doc?

Sorry you are feeling unwell. Only you know what feels wrong in your body and the extent of the pain however I would at the very least check it out with the Dr by phone. As you know any chest pain needs attention and A&E will be happy to check you over if required and you should not hesitate to go if you need to...

Advice I have always been given is....if you have needed two GTN sprays, in fairly quick succession, and it deals with the chest pain, that should be OK. If you think another (third) is needed, soon after, then call an ambulance,

Don’t get yourself to A and E or a lift. Call an ambulance.

I would call my GP to discuss this chest pain, if it’s the first for ten months.

Thanks, that makes good sense

Sorry you are feeling yourself.

I agree with the other posters that if the GTN Spray resolves the problem then no need to go to A&E.

I would suggest you start a diary for the next week or so and jot down anything unusual you are doing and when you feel the need for the GTN to jot down what you were doing prior to the shortness of breath or chest pain (including what you may have eaten)

If you have not taking your blood pressure I'd suggest to start doing that daily as well as your pulse.

Then when the next time it happens you will have a history of events that may be causing the problem. You can then have some solid information to discuss with you GP and he can more easily identify why you are experiencing these episodes.

Thanks, that’s very good advice and your message arriving coincided absolutely perfectly with my wife suggesting I “write a diary” to help me find a pattern 🤣
