Is a fairly common quote these days. When the pandemic first started the procedures were not fully in place. I ended up in A&E 10 days ago and there are now very stringent procedures in place. If you have to go you have to go!
This was brought home to me this morning when I was told about a lady not a dozen miles down the road. She had multiple medical problems and despite chest pain said she would not go to A&E. Subsequently she had a fatal heart attack.
So if you suspect something is wrong ring 111 or 999. You know it makes sense!

Golly gosh that does ram home the importance of going to A&E if presenting symptoms
Honestly, cause you would have to go, emergencies ring 999! If they too busy, would contact next door neighbour to ask another neighbour wit a car to take me immediately.....not worth dying for it, is it????
Well hope we all know what to do!
But let's stay sensible, especially now, and avoid any daft DIYs or dangerous walks, as rather stay safe then sorry! Thanks Michael 👌😊
A good reminder Michael. Locally someone is in hospital with blood poisoning as he wouldn't go to have a deep cut he got in his garden cleaned and stitched!
Very true. Far to many cannot grasp keeping 2m apart and one way arrows! A handy hint if people approach you the wrong way is to pretend to cough and watch them reverse!
My son is an essential worker in the US, he tells me the cough into his elbow is working a treat to make people violating his personal space quickly move away. But he's now worried someone might 'go postal' on him so he's rethinking the cough method and may go to wearing the masks his employer has made available (and optional for now, that may change in the future).
It is frightening. My brother was in a care home, got a chest infection and was taken to hospital where he developed Covid 19 and died just a week ago. I am being as careful as I can generally anyway because I don't want to go in to hospital but that has more to do with being in one just over a year ago for 3 months. In current circumstances, If I had to go I would go in spite of what happened to my brother. NHS were great with me and saved my life. I trust them
So sorry for your loss of your brother and I send you my condolences. As you say I too have such a lot to thank the NHS for, so would go to hospital if I had to. It is a worrying time but all we can do is stay as safe as possible.
Condolences on the loss of your brother. Never easy to lose a loved one but somehow worse to lose a loved one to a pandemic. Again, deepest sympathies on your loss.
I don`t know.I contacted her on chat, she always answers but not this time.Very worrying.I hope she and Kevin are safe and I hope nobody has driven her off the site as happened to Gunsmoke and Deano.
I messaged her a bit ago - she's taking a break from the forums for a bit, catching her breath. She is so missed but I do understand the need to step back sometimes. Hopefully she'll be back soon.
She's on an extended break from the forum. Sometimes we all need one and this is hers. Hopefully she'll be back soon - she's such a cheery person and we need all the cheer we can get even at the best of times.
Couldn’t agree more - I went to A&E on Friday and have to say there was next to no one there. It was very strange. I sat on a seat which was numbered the rest had been taped off and was seen at first by people in PPE. Once through their checks it was business as usual and saw a lot of staff stood around waiting for something to happen. I’m waiting for numerous results for numerous things in a May appointment but due to the doc having time he gave me them there and then. So was a worthwhile visit and deepened my respect and appreciation for the NHS.
i HAD to go into hospital for 2 nights due to chest pain and it was also discovered my kidney function was very low.. my local hospital is FVRH in Larbert and of course i was apprehensive about having to go in.. but needs must.. hospital was divided into red.. green and amber zones..God forbid i’ll need their services again but if i do.. i would have no hesitation in doing so
