I have been prescribed nebivolol for heart pulpatations and I'm really scared to take my first dose, I am going to start on half a tablet of a 2.5 dose, I have asthma so it's a trial to see how I will be, can anyone reassure me please ? Absolutely petrified and it's making my pulpatations worse.

Nebivolol help?
Hi, I dont have any personal experience with it, but it looks like a beta blocker

Just keep an eye on your bp, can you monitor it? I wouldnt be worried with such a low dose. HTH. I'm sure someone will be along to help...
I was like you six weeks ago only with an anti-coagulant tablet. Had a real mental block over taking it - took me three weeks after picking up the tablet to take it. Finally summoned up the courage and all was fine. I’m not on Nebivolol but an on a beta blocker, quite a high dose. I find I’m obsessed with my heart rate and rhythm but the tablet is doing its job and I don’t have any significant side effects. Take a breath and be brave - I know it is scary. Best wishes.
Be brave!!! I take 1.25 nebivilol and no probs. I asked for an increase (thought more would be best) but not so, I'm back on 1.25 and ok
May I ask what you take it for? Mine is for pulpatations, I suffer really bad, had all the tests going and I am ok, other then them, I was going to start Monday but my pulpatations are so bad today and I guess these will take a little while to work so I need to bite the bullet today don't I.
Thank you so much for your reply.
I take it because of tachycardia (rapid heart beat) I can't take most of the other beta blockers because I have Raynaud's. Nebivilol dilates arteries so Raynaud's doesn't feel so bad. Good luck if you decide to start, it might make you feel a bit warm - not necessary a bad thing, and I found it worked quickly. Let me know how you get on...if you want to!
Hi Ghostie. I've taken Bisoprolol and am now on Carvedilol, which are beta blockers like Nebivolol. You won't feel any different (except your palpitations may stop!). Because it's such a low dose, although it will lower your BP, it probably won't be enough to make you feel faint.
Let us know how you get on xx
I have been on it for 3 years now - no problems. I take the full 5mg dose/daily.
I was recently put on 7.5 of Nebivolol which I take at night. It replaced Bisoprolol but I can't remember why now but I have no problems on Nebivolol and feel less fragile when I wake up in the morning. Most mornings I'm up by 6 a.m. feeling as if I slept. I hope it goes well with you too.
I've been taking 12.5mg for a year now and had no problems
How did it go in the end Ghostie? Understand your reticence. Best to start on 1.25 with Nebivolol whatever doctor says. See how it goes. Everyone's body is different.
