Hello
I can imagine that you’re nervous, do you have support around you? Friends / family?
Don’t be afraid to reach out to them.
Hugs 🤗
When I had an angiogram in late 2018 I knew beforehand that there would be three possible outcomes. Manage with medication, stents, or a bypass.
I fervently hoped it wouldn't be a bypass...so of course a bypass was the result!
Looking back a bypass operation was the best thing that could have happened. Sure, the first couple of months after discharge were no walk in the park, but once the Cardio Rehab course was over, and I really got stuck into exercise, weight loss, and healthy eating, then the change was absolutely transformational!
I never appreciated that the creeping effects of angina had been so corrosive. I'd just put it all down to ageing. But the beauty of a bypass is that your angina is totally removed, basically the clock gets reset to zero, and wow, is the impact amazing!
Personally I felt not just ten years younger, but twenty years younger. For over 18 months now I've been sleeping like a baby and waking every morning full of energy.
If I knew then what I know now, instead of feeling apprehensive before my bypass I'd have been banging on the hospital door, trying to get in and have the op as early as possible!
Good luck!
