Just had a telephone call from Southampton General hospital offering me an appointment for an Echo and consultation with my Cardiologist on 22 Dec. The fact that it was supposed to be 6 months from last appointment it is exactly one year is probably due to covid. I dont feel any different from last year when I was told I had an enlarged heart and a borderline extraction fraction but not in the heart failure range.
I will let you all know the results in due course, but wish me luck!

Hi geoff. Good to hear your appointment has come through, even if it is a little late. An early Xmas 🎁 for you! Good luck with it and best wishes for a healthy happy Christmas.x
Hello Geoff
That is my husbands name
The fact you feel no different seems like a good sign to me and I hope after your appointment they feel the same way to
I am wishing you all the luck in the world and will look out for you posting to let us know how you get on x
Good luck Geoff51,
I will be there just before you on the 15th Dec, for the same reasons, hoping that this follow up will release me from some of the medication that I am on and maybe some answers to the thyroid problems that I have.
Good luck with your appointment Geoff51 sure everything will be fine and at least your having it before Christmas which is great get it out of the way take care wishing you a very happy Christmas 🎄x
Haha, that's why I go up from Poole on the train (it takes about an hour), then catch the no.17 or no.3 bus (it takes about 20mins) to the Hospital. So much easier than trying to find a parking space.
Bournemouth Car Park beats both Poole and Southampton for Parking Nightmares. Never been to Poole without being on the Car Parks Roof !!!
One thing about Southampton is I have only ever heard good reports about Cardiology Services, hope it all goes well. My MRI scan is after Christmas somehow wish it was before but not to worry !!!
Hope all goes well for you. I asked for a referral to SUH early this year and cannot fault their care. Now back with my local hospital but with a far better idea of what my heart is doing. Hope the parking faries smile on you ♥️
Hi.Not sure why your appointment was 6 months overdue, I am under Mr Tsang at Southampton Hospital and have yearly scans, mine have always been on time - mind I do phone Mr Tsangs Secretary to make sure I've not been forgotten! I usually have my CT scan and a couple of weeks later get the consultation appointment with one of Mr Tsangs team. This year though I had my CT Scan as scheduled, but instead of having another trip to Southampton for my results, Emma Hope gave me the results over the phone.
My advice to you would be, if they give you a follow up timescale but you don't hear anything then phone your Consultants secretary and ask! They are very helpful.
Thank you all for your good wishes for my forthcoming Cardiology appointment. As far as the parking issue at SGH, I get my wife to drop me off and go home as we only live 6 miles from the Hospital or she goes shopping!
My Parents used to live 2 doors down from the hospital, up until Mums passing 20 years ago we parked in her drive, even our then GP used to phone Mum and ask to park there! Needless to say we always got excellent service in return!
Glad you are finally having your appointment, it’s good to get checked & see if there are any changes & if you need to adjust or be put. on new meds best wishes
