Yes I have done, it turned out to be the amlodipine I was taking, now on Viazam.

Are you on amlodipine?

My legs felt heavy and tight, it was the fluid build up making them swell etc, much better now 😀

I ended up cutting the bottom of my jeans to allow for my swollen ankles, they are the stretchy close fitted ones incase you thing they’re lose ones as that certainly would be swollen legs. Good luck with those, let us know how you get on !!

If you also get any pain on walking in your calves-could be worth asking your GP if you might have peripheral artery disease.

I was ready to post that to get checked at GP, as I was diagnosed with Bilateral illiac artery occlusion.. (P. A. D). If you have to keep stopping to rest your legs, then please get checked, as my GP, missed my symptoms, hence to late for me, I won't survive a operation. Hopefully it is just medication change that is needed. X

East Cheshire NHS trust workout on U Tube for post cardio op I find amazing. I used to have creaky shoulders and all sorts of strange pains until I found this website. They really have excellent stretches for the legs but they are there for you to make sure you don’t over do it . This is primarily helpful to me (post triple bypass) because I could no longer go to cardio Workout because of lockdown. It may not suit everyone but I really found it helpful. They go through the workout in stages.

I have constant leg pain and on top of each foot when at rest. Hardly anything when moving .

I never sleep more than 3 hrs solid because of this. No swelling and it is the same on both sides. Had all kinds of therapy ,acupuncture, painkillers ,physiotherapy and no diagnosis as to why. I had a sudden cardiac arrest 18months ago and apart from this my physical recovery has been amazing.

It can take a long time to get Peripheral Artery Disease diagnosed. Don’t give up. Ask.

Thanks for reply but because I get little pain when walking or running I am doubtful as to this being P.A.D. ?

PAD can be asymptomatic- in fact I think only 30% of pts are symptomatic

Tight and heavy specially when walking can be a sign of peripheral artery disease. Ask your doctor for an ABPI test just to make sure.

My legs ache all the time, even first thing in the morning. It’s only started in the past 4 months but I have put some weight on during CV19 lockdown so have put it on to that.

I haven’t discussed it with a GP as it’s been impossible to get any response from the surgery except renewal of prescriptions.

I’m going to the hospital shortly for a pacemaker check up so will bring it up then.

Ask about Peripheral Artery Disease. It is a serious “lesser popular sister” to cardiac disease and often not considered by the cardiac team. Good luck with the pacemaker. Let us know what happens.

Ask your GP to check the blood pressure at your ankles if this happens from time to time.
