Tired and low energy

Tiredness/no energy. Asking if anyone has any tips for natural help with this? Diagnosed Afib 24 months ago, pretty much constant & not helped by my anxiety condition. I take potassium, iron (vegetarian) and co enzyme q10 as all supposed to help energy levels? Due to breathlessness I can’t exercise so too sedentary and put on weight, which I know doesn’t help

My suggestion would be to supplement with vitamin B12 to give you more energy.

A nurse friend of mine told me to never supplement with iron tablets, so instead each week I have a mixed salad of watercress, rocket and spinach, alongside salmon cooked in a teaspoon of mustard and another of honey, then covered and cooked in microwave for 3 minutes, served with new potatoes.

If you haven't done so already I'd get your thyroid tested too, in case it's underactive - mine was and made me dreadfully tired, but I thought it was all part of AF. Actually it would be good if your GP arranged a full blood test for you.

I felt just the same.Had a blood test which showed I was deficient in vitaminB12.Had injections of B12 every other day for 2 weeks.Felt so much better afterwards so I would suggest you ask for a blood test to check your iron and B12 levels.Good luck.

The only natural help I can suggest is making sure you have plenty of fresh fruit and veg, and try to get some outside exercise, even if it is only a gentle stroll, or potter in the garden.

Low levels of vitamins D and B12 can make you feel tired. As can hypothyroidism. If you haven't been tested perhaps you could ask your doctor. More information can be found on the pernicious anemia and thyroid sections of health unlocked.

I also have A fib for over a year, waiting for Cardioversion, I swim a couple of times a week get plenty of fresh air and sun when pottering in the garden ,my thyroid and blood tests all ok, I think that the fatigue is part of the condition as the heart is not working correctly, try not to worry and just rest when it’s bad.
