My husband has Heart Failure- ischaemic heart condition which he was fitted with a Pacemaker for irregular heart beat, on top of this he has Parkinson and COPD.

Now l do not know what to do with all these symptoms,? l am trying to do a lot of research in no particular order but heart wise he is always tired no energy loss ,of appetite etc.

He hasn't the energy to go out for a walk in general a hermit l feel hopeless for what l can make his life better.

Any advice would be good.

Hello :-)

I am so sorry your Husband has all these conditions and you are trying so hard to find out how to help him it must be so stressful

I could imagine with him also having COPD that could make him tired , some of the medications could be contributing to things to

I am not sure why you have not been offered any help but I would stop researching and make an appointment with my Doctor and explain how things are and what outside help there is dealing with all these conditions they can refer or offer you

Most places have a Community heart failure team I know that is one that if you get referred could offer help and advise but I think the first thing is to get the ball rolling by talking with your Doctor

Others maybe when they come on will have more advise but keep us updated how you get on :-) x

Thank you BeKind28 yes l did wonder if there is a help group which l will look into, the hospital asks me to send a reading of his Pacemaker twice a year so he has not seen the heart consultant for years, he has seen a nurse at GP for blood test waiting for results.

L will update if l get some info.

Take care

I hope your manage to get a check-up on your husband soon. All his conditions could lead to him feeling very tired. I have not seen specific self-help groups in the area where I live (although we have a support group for older people that arranges social events etc) but you may be lucky. Just going out for a coffee in a local cafe can help (can a family member help?) but if he is too tired that may not be possible either. An appt with your GP sounds like a good place to start, to check that physically everything is being done for him. And then move on from there. Best of luck. x

Hope you get your blood test results thro soon to clarify if anything else is responsible for the tiredness. It is so hard trying to motivate someone when they feel so tired and down. x

I'd say a review of his medication is needed. Ask your GP to check through everything he's taking and make a list of how he's feeling to take with you

I would agree a review of medication and blood pressure reading. Just by being there is of course making your husband's life infinitely better.
