Hi all,

As hospitals are beginning to carry out operations and procedures that were delayed because of coronavirus, I wanted to share our recent Heart Matters article that answers some common questions, including:

Is it safe to go into hospital?

I'm worried about going into hospital - can I delay my surgery?

Can I have visitors in hospital?

Will I be tested for coronavirus before my operation?

How can I prepare for surgery?

Full article here: bit.ly/3hAZvtg

If you're worried about going to hospital at this time, our cardiac nurses are always here to talk through your concerns bhf.org.uk/informationsuppo...

Thanks all :)

Hi Helen, had ICD CRT D fitted in day surgery at John Radcliffe Oxford following cancellation in March due to Coronavirus. Just recovering from yesterday's procedure but all went well. Wonderful team there from nurses to consultants all wearing appropriate PPE. Seperate entrance to unit was helpful. Regards to Marina.

I was concerned about going into hospital during this time but had to go in 3 times over the last month for a total of 8 days and didn’t feel concerned in there at all as the PPE for me and the staff was good as was the distancing and extra cleaning. None of the patients I kept in contact with caught Covid in there although incidence was high amongst the poor staff.
