Having read lots of posts on the site and the AF site I am a bit confused about the extremely vulnerable list, I have read this list over and over but it seems some people are getting letters and texts sent to shield for the three months I have Heart Failure, permanent AF and aflutter, I have a pacemaker, pulmonary hypertension and a leaky tricuspid valve.
I want to point out that I have NOT got a letter or text
Some of the posts people are saying they do not want to go on the list and some seem to want to be on the list I know you can register online and then it is up to your doctor don’t know what the advantage is really other then you can get your shopping delivered and your medicines. My sister deliver my shopping but I do go out probably once a week only to the local shop to pick up one or two items and my medicines once a month. I am working from home and will continue to do so, what I’m really worried about is if the social isolating is relaxed I don’t want to go into work, I know that I am on the vulnerable list so will have to stay in for three months but would this be a good thing to do I don’t know any thoughts please??

There have been reports that patients living in Wales, Scotland or N Ireland have not received their letters yet. The majority of patients in England have.
Each devolved government is responsible for this task through the central records they hold then it is your GPs responsibility to identify vulnerable individuals on their lists.
Your GP can also add you to the list so perhaps contact your GP for further advice.
It is confusing and just makes the uncertainty of the the current situation we are all facing more challenging.
There seems to be confusion over these letters, I have the NHS letter and one from my GP saying if I caught the virus I'm at risk of serious complications so to stay in for 12 weeks.
Yet when I go to register on the gov site I don't qualify as I don't have any of the listed health problems. I'm wondering if there are two types of letters going out, one for the "at risk" and another for the "extremely vulnerable".
I got the standard government one a couple of weeks ago , the NHS one addressed to me and with my NHS number on came end of last week and GP day after that.
I have PAF, 2nd degree heart block, pacemaker, microvascular angina, thyroid disease and ulcerative colitis but none of them are on the "extremely vulnerable" list.
Well considering what I have I am surprised I haven’t got one but many posts I hay read say they do not want to get this letter so I am in real dilemma whether to contact GP considering I have pulmonary hypertension which is a lung problem
Sorry no meaning to ask you what you think just thinking aloud
Well I didn't really want the letter and to be honest it makes no difference to me, I can't get a shopping delivery slot without registering which it seems I can't do so I still have to go shopping and out to walk the dogs so I'll just carry on doing what I was doing.
You may still get "the letter" as its obviously taking time to send them out.
One letter came from the NHS and another from my GP practice. To register on the gov site for help with getting deliveries and other things you need to have one or more of the listed conditions, as I don't have any of them I can't register but it doesn't matter to me anyway.
