Self isolation

At moment I'm on 14days isolation decided on by work(the time length not the actual decision to self isolate).I've seen a fair few people on here about 12wks.However I haven't received an NHS letter or been contacted via phone (least not yet ) so guessing not deemed as really high risk and therefore not to take 12wks?.I am high risk though and only just started few days before was advised everyone nearly to self isolate and social distance due to being high risk.

I think will call my Cardiologist before my telephone consultation and ask and see if need a letter or summit to see if I will be able to have the 12wks.As I'm pretty worried at idea if after 14days got to go to work incase I end up getting it.Then I'm pretty confused as had Govt text to stay in but no time frame and ofc we all being told to do so I guess no one knows and to just keep checking on latest news and people I can contact.

I am puzzled you are confused by the Government text. The "Stay at home" message was sent to every UK mobile to reinforce the prime minister's words. I.e. you should only leave your home for the exceptions that were given such as essential work that cannot be done from home, shopping for basics, medical reasons including collecting prescriptions and exercise close to home once a day.

Those most of risk are being contacted by text, letter or phone to totally isolate for 12 weeks. This is ongoing. If you have heard nothing by Monday and think you should then contact your medical team.

Hi, hope you are well. I just received the standard text as well. Last week I asked my GP about work as we had children self isolating. He said that I should stay off work for 12 weeks as I had had a heart attack and have asthma. Since then my union guidance backs this up. I would ask your gp for advice. Stay well.

My wife and I are on a 14 day self isolation from any one at all, but this is the requirement of the local Cardio Clinic who don't want me back in hospital until I am proven clear of anything. A much needed Coronary CT Scan is also awaiting this sort of clearance as well.

This is based on the last telephone meeting where I admitted to experiencing some breathlessness when exerting myself a bit much (for me, to be expected when you're experiencing a heart failure that requires surgery). I've exhibitied no other sytems that come under what to look for with Corona Virus, and had already been in isolation from anyone for 10 days (though my wife has popped out to the shops and Chemists 4 times)

The simple truth is: what ever we may feel or think, we have to follow the requirements of the health professionals who are risking their lives to ensure the well being of our lives.

The only thing that I might be considered a rebel is with exercise: I'm not allowed to navigate any hills, and living on a hill need to drive some where to enjoy a drop of exercise where it will be free from other people etc. But then, that is why that exception exists...
