Hi all,

This is my 1st post as only discovered the community today.I am starting to feel a little anxious as many are regarding this virus. I know that I am doing the right thing by self isolating but already starting to feel under pressure through work to possibly returning.

I was sent home for14 days as Iwas identified as being in a vulnerable group due to having had a heart attack 5yrs ago and receiving full medication/flu injection not to mention B12 injections quarterly and iron supplements as also have pernicious anemia.

Having seen the news, can I assumeI am someone who needs to be shielded and isolate for 12 weeks.

Please advise

Thankyou

Hi

It doesn’t sound to me as though you’re in the group that needs to be shielded. Info is here on those who have to be isolated for 12 weeks.

The rest of us in the vulnerable group need to adopt stringent social distancing practices. The latest from the BHF is here: gov.uk/government/publicati...

I imagine that they’ll be stopping non essential contact soon. Is there anything you can do back office? Might be worth talking to your manager. A good organisation should be able to adapt your work so that you can remain 2 metres from others. Good luck.

Health and Safety is everyones responsibility...stated in all company policies. Never more so has this been clearer. I am happy to fo any work remotely but not willing to compromise my health or that of others as social distancing becomes more difficult with customers and environment. Therefore I believe I need to make the decision and take responsibility for doing so but know I am doing the right thing to protect myself, others and our NHS
