Still sounds a bit breathless and has a very high colour!

in reply toLezzers

I thought he sounded a bit disheveled, understandably.

I admit I watched his message video closely - to me he's always had 'high colour' but not the puffy face he had in the message. I also made sure to watch his breathing. I thought he covered it well but he was taking deeper breaths in his more frequent than usual pauses.

But all in he looks on the road to recovery.

The PM, seen last in the Zoom Cabinet meeting film, looks as though he's not doing as well as Prince Charles. The PM's face is even more puffy than when he was last seen in a video clip taken during the previous Cabinet meeting, and he definitely has 'high colour' - considering he is usually far more pale, the high colour and puffy face are not good signs.

Lezzers in reply toSunnie2day

I thought the PM did look very poorly, but odd that we're not getting updates on his health and no one is asking at the daily briefings or have I missed it?

Sunnie2day profile image
Sunnie2day in reply toLezzers

No, you haven't missed it - no-one has asked. I think Gove mentioned the PM is doing well in his fronting the evening briefing last night but Alok Sharma didn't say anything tonight.

It would be nice if the PM did a short clip so we can see him. He doesn't have to look recovered, but it would be nice to get a look to see his condition.

I agree, I know here's apparently doing video conferencing but it would reassuring to see him & hear how his girlfriend is

Carrie did a photo from where she's self-isolating (Chequers, I think) - she looked fine right around the time of the announcement the PM had tested positive. I'm with you, I'd like an update on her condition as well as on the PM's.

in reply toSunnie2day

Both mother and baby are doing fine. Oh wait....you meant her actual baby not Boris 👶 😅

I have to admit I'm curious to know if he has any sort of nursing care while he's unwell. I did read a few days ago aides are bringing his Red Box and meals, leaving the deliveries on the floor outside his door, knocking then fleeing before he can answer to pick-up.

He really didn't look great in that Zoom clip. Prince Charles looks much better - not fully recovered, a bit more red faced than usual but certainly better than the PM is looking.

I thought he sounded more breathless and a little puffy but it was his fingers and hand, they looked like mine before my op puffy and shiny. Hope he makes a complete recovery, it’s obvious it’s taken a lot out of him.

Sunnie2day profile image
Sunnie2day in reply to080311

Oh, I missed that! He does usually have slightly puffy hands but shiny is not at all good.

080311 in reply toSunnie2day

Saw photos of him on his last overseas trip can’t remember where but his hands were puffy then, but they said it was from the flight.

Sunnie2day profile image
Sunnie2day in reply to080311

LOL, I think the last time he didn't have pudgy fingers was 1970 something. But I have a similar problem with puffy-when-flying, my legs swell alarmingly if I don't take a diuretic pre-flight. And post-flight. I used to wear compression stockings but a flight attendant had to help me cut them off the last long-haul (to, I went without on the way home).

The 'joys' of ageing and having a life-long heart condition!

in reply toSunnie2day

What’s the shiny mean then ?

Lezzers profile image
Lezzers in reply to

That's what I was wondering

Sunnie2day profile image
Sunnie2day in reply to

Oedema. My big clue something isn't right is when my pudgy little fingers go shiny and even more pudgy than usual.

in reply toSunnie2day

Oh right gotcha

Lezzers profile image
Lezzers in reply toSunnie2day

Strangely enough I've just watched a video from twitter of the PM (sky news, I don't do twitter) He looks tired but a bit better. He also looks like he's lost weight, his face is definitely not puffy now and from what I could see, neither were his fingers. On the road to recovery I would say. ☺

Sunnie2day profile image
Sunnie2day in reply toLezzers

I was on Skype but had SkyNews on mute - saw him and you're right, he does look better and definitely on the road to recovery. Almost the same ebullient Boris judging from the way he was bouncing around his chair, and was he holding a camera up like a selfie or was that my imagination?

I went to his twitter feed and it really does look as though he's doing a selfie vid - lol, the camera moved around in time with his movements.

Any road, looking better than he did the other day.

Before my op mine looked like sausages just been cooked in the frying pan all gleaming! Having said that feet and ankles were the same.!

Sunnie2day profile image
Sunnie2day in reply to080311

How long after your op was it before you looked down and realised you really do have ankle bones?

080311 profile image
080311 in reply toSunnie2day

I was in hospital for weeks before my op I was drowning in my own fluid! I was on a diuretic drip twice a day! I woke up one morning and could feel my collar bone! Hadn’t noticed they had disappeared after that bits of my body kept reappearing, even the bunion on my foot!!

Sunnie2day profile image
Sunnie2day in reply to080311

Oedema is horrible and you had a beyond horrible time with it. How long were you in hospital post-op?

080311 profile image
080311 in reply toSunnie2day

Only 6 days, I was nearly 7 weeks in our local hospital under the care of my Cardioligest where they got rid of most of my water retention and did a full mot you name the test I had it done! Had cameras put everywhere! Then sent by ambulance to the Golden Jubilee for my op. When I woke up in ICU felt so much better it was amazing.

Sunnie2day profile image
Sunnie2day in reply to080311

Blimey, seven weeks but home after only six days post-op, that's wonderful! I've read so many people say how much better they felt after their op, good to hear another - gives me courage for when they finally have to go in and replace my aortic valve.

But oh yikes, cameras everywhere - I can imagine only too well where those cameras went! My cardiologist was hinting he wanted to put one down my throat last year and I went into serious fear and panic mode. In the end I didn't need anything more invasive than an angiogram and right heart study, but I was definitely worrying about 'other places' cameras can go when a cardiologist puts her/his mind to it.

Being honest the worst part is the drink you have to take to clean your bowls, never had anything like it. Down the throat wasn’t bad they give you a sedative, so everyone is wonderful!! So if he comes back with he thinks you might need it please don’t worry it’s ok. You will just feel like you have had a whole bottle of Merlot!!

Sunnie2day profile image
Sunnie2day in reply to080311

Oh, well, that wouldn't be so bad, lol!

Apparently, the Chinese government is allegedly covering up numbers etc again. I’m absolutely livid at the Chinese Government ( not the people btw). 😡

Yes it seems so, yet he has world class clinicians caring for him, he self isolates in luxury, spare a thought for the mother with children in a small flat,........double nightmare, it’s to those people I say well done.

Lezzers profile image
Lezzers in reply toTudee

I don't think anyone has not spared a thought for the mother with children in a small flat, obviously we all feel desperately sorry for her. However, surely we have compassion for everyone who's been affected by this virus whatever their status in life? It's a nasty virus that doesn't pick and choose its victims.

in reply toLezzers

Well said Lezzers. It’s time we change as a society.

Tudee profile image
Tudee in reply toLezzers

I’m pleased he is well now, but he really doesn’t figure in my consciousness, just got back from queuing in the rain at 76 yrs with A.F. hoping that the shelves will be stocked with essentials, I have to do this as I do not have any family and friends are all self isolating, so no, the indulged, privileged, multimillionaire and his health kind wasn’t on my mind for a nano second.

MydogBrandy profile image
MydogBrandy

Nice to see him on the mend. Obviously has all the medics round to look after him, as with tests available to all of the family I presume. I hope all are well. Feel so so sorry for people not getting tests and not knowing whether they have the virus or not.

The thing that does annoy me is his son who thinks he can have what we wants , decided to leave the royal family but still wants all the money for the security etc. While people are dying. Deciding which house to buy at around £5million in Malibu. Says he won’t use tax payers money so daddy steps up with 2 million on top of the million he gets every year anyway even though he has inherited millions. Sorry to rant just feel that money from the Dutchy would be so helpful if given to the NHS instead. OR perhaps sell some of the paintings.

I am so so sad to hear of all the deaths every day it makes me boil to read trivial things...... you got it stop reading it.

Hope all the readers are feeling well and stay safe.

Lots of love Ursula x

I don't think you can tell all that much from zoom or other videos. Much will depend on the lighting.

Sunnie2day profile image
Sunnie2day in reply todunestar

Good point and based on well the PM looked last night, his state of unwellness was not helped by the lighting in the Zoom footage.

I’m surprised how isolating for just seven days with mild symptoms is enough for anybody. I’m no fan of any royalty but people with mild symptoms have been laid up for weeks not sure what makes Charlie boy any different he’s is over 70 isn’t he? Thought over 70’s been told 12weeks isolation.

Prada47 profile image
Prada47 in reply toDickydon

Is that not over 70s with underlying Health Conditions ??

I don't think it would work everyone over 70 to Isolate for 12 weeks, Otherwise your saying anyone at 69 and 11 months is safe anyone a month older is at Risk. Blanket lockdowns don't work that is why the Gov is going slowly slowly but that's just my opinion and I am sure others will differ.

Stay Well Sty Safe

Dickydon profile image
Dickydon in reply toPrada47

It may be the case, but would we mere peasants know if any royalty has any underlying health concerns? I doubt it.

His brother Andrew in his recent public intv about his support for his pedophile friend Jeffery Epstein, said that he had a underlying health prob about sweating; now did any public know about that before he mentioned it? I doubt it.

Is this really the thread to leave political rants? I am concerned for everyone not just the poor!

Dickydon profile image
Dickydon in reply toOutandabout

Why do you assume this a political rant? I never involved politics. My tone maybe slightly abrupt, but that often wakes up the sleeping many in our world.

Sunnie2day profile image
Sunnie2day in reply toPrada47

It's so hard to work out nowadays - the 'guidance' keeps changing, but I think the over 70s set are meant to self-isolate no matter the state of their health. I think. As I said, the 'guidance' changes daily so who knows what we're meant to do besides 'Stay Home to Save the NHS'.

No problem for me - I got 'The Letter' so I'm shut-in 'til June. grrrr!
