Isolation
How lovely! If at any point you want to share pictures of your creations please do! I'm back to doing watercolours after about 15 years. I then find myself mailing bad paintings to my loved ones to lift their spirits
Hi
I have stocked up my Kindle with my favourite Author books
Read them years ago and kept them with intention of reading in correct order when retired.
Also made a cake all being well will make something each week .
Started to buy take a break each week for the puzzles in them
I've started back knotting up macramé plant hangers (needed them as I now have more plants indoors than out), and this morning since around 6am I've been making candles.
Full confession - I was reorganising a cupboard last night (boredom cleaning, lol) and found my candle making supplies - got started this morning and am now wondering what I'm going to do with all these scented votive and pillar candles
At least you wont run out of candles anytime soon.
Lol, true, and bonus: I now have Christmas gifts to neighbours all finished!
Gosh that's organized yes I am going to make some belated birthday and christmas cards
What a great idea (Christmas cards)! Do you use a manual roller machine and dies (and embossing folders) or do you have one of those downloadable cutters? I love my SideKick and Big Shot machines but those downloadable ones look fun.
Thank-you for the inspiration, I know I have dies I didn't use for Christmas 2019 and I could have our entire list done waaaay early thanks to your suggestion!
I am not sure what you mean by downloadable cutter or side kick or big shot machine?. I just do lino cuts or monoprints maybe some collage .
WOW - you cut lino - WOW! I know how and I know not to try (essential tremor and absolutely no artistic ability) but I love the way the technique can be used to create so many different styles.
SideKick and Big Shot are 'manual roller die cutting machines' - you put a metal cutting die on a piece of paper or card between plastic plates and run the 'sandwich' through the roller press - boom, out pops your cut paper or card.
A downloadable cutter is a machine the crafter can download (or upload with a thumb drive) the cutting pattern to and with a flick of a switch the machine cuts the pattern and spits out the cut paper or card at the end. Priced a bit out of my league, actually, but I know some fellow paper-crafters who wouldn't use anything else.
LOL, I am ace at pasting those die cut pieces into something decent, not so ace if I have to draw and cut myself.
I have recently been going to an art group. For my birthday I am being given a very posh set of watercolour paints so I shall be trying to improve my technique over the next few weeks.
Rediscovering our creative side to manage our anxiety is such a good idea.
I have got all my watercolour paints and jewellery making stuff out too for the rainy days when I can't get into my garden.
We should have a virtual summer show of our endeavours
I would love to learn how to do batik.....watch this space 😊
Yeah why not post our creative endevours on here ,I would like to see what others are doing . I hope to make use of the time as much as possible. I dont know how you post a photo though.
