About my Amlodopine

Hi

I am taking Amlodopine 10mg for high blood pressure since 2008 but recently I started taking bay leaves tea does it interfere with my med?

Hello and welcome to the forum! I see from your profile that you suffer from hypertension. Is the Amlodapine not controlling it and the idea is the Bay Leaves will help? Sometimes dual therapy is more effective (e.g. adding an ACE inhibitor to your current CCI - calcium channel inhibitor). Has your GP discussed this?

Sorry I cannot answer your specific question. I know St John's Wort is a no-no with CCIs.

Is not stable sometimes in day time is good but in the morning is mostly 159/122 or 157/118 but during the day 134/98 or 136/99 I wonder if is better to take mine at night

That's way high. Go back to your GP. You might need your meds reviewed.

I agree with others that you need to discuss your bp with your doctor and see what they advise.I am on amlodipine and the only thing I know to avoid is grapefruit but a doctor or pharmacist would know better.

Your readings are not good particularly the lower (diastolic) ones which are potentially dangerous. You need to make an urgent appointment with your GP. Messing about with herbal tea is not the answer with those readings.
