I am diagnosed with a mitral heart defect.
I am just not sure if I should isolate myself at the moment and work from home?

I need a precise answer yes or no...
If you mean a mitral ‘valve’ defect - yes! My mitral valve is leaking and if my consultant recommends antibiotic treatment for a tooth extraction, then it is obvious we are at extra risk of infection.
yes, I got a mitral valve defect but I do not have to take any antibiotics (my dentist is always happy with my teeth condition),
yes, my valve is leaking
so am I high risk of COVID19 or not as the guidance is not clear to me anyway...
Your dentist might be “happy” but the view of your cardiologist is the one that matters. Dentists were told some years ago it was no longer necessary to treat heart patients with antibiotics for invasive dental work as had been the ruling in the past ( possibly a decision reached at the time when trying to curtail the overuse of ABs). However that advice was overturned in more recent years but some dentists may not have ‘caught up’.
I just need to know one thing if I shoud isolate myself or not...?
Did you not read my first line of my first reply?
yes, did have a look again...sorry
sadly yes, I should isolate myself...
are You a doctor?
My opinion, it only mine, answer yes
