Well what a weekend we had, hubby has had 13 bouts of chest pain over 36 hours, ended up in A&E had 2 dos in there. Saw 2 nice Dr's and one of the most obnoxious, patronising Dr's I've ever met discharged hubby as his blood and ecg OK, was told A&E is for life threatening emergencies!!!! I've never been so 😡 hasten to say a Complaint has been made.

I'm sorry you had such a rotten time of it.How is your husband now? I think it is dreadful that you were spoken to that way as chest pain is a real concern and we are always told that if you get an unexplained chest pain, get it checked out.I had some episodes of burning chest pain after starting some meds last year and went to A&E twice.Nothing was found but all the staff I saw were very kind and reassuring I'm pleased to say.I hope you get an apology at least from this.
Hi hubby still having pains and now afraid to go to sleep as they have started to wake him up in the night which is something they have never done before. Seen our gp who has upped his bisoporol to 10mg, all other meds already at max doses apparently. Just wish the hospital would get on and do the perfusion scan they want doing, had one 2 years ago but they want to do another, it's all very frustrating, exhausting
So, has anyone given you any idea about what might be causing this or is it all dependent on the scan?
We already know he has coronary heart disease, and micro vascular angina its all become unstable in the last month out of nowhere but struggling to stabilise it at the moment
Ah I see, that's a worry then. When is the scan,do you have a date yet?
No date as yet, hoping they will try to bring it forward rather than the standard 3 month wait they said it would be
How was your husband's MVA diagnosed?
It's really important to determine what is thought to be causing your husband's MVA.
One type is due to the inability of the small blood vessels to dilate microvascular dysfunction and beta blockers can help.
The other cause is due to vasospasms then beta blockers can make this type of MVA much worse and beta blockers are also contraindicated for those with vasospastic angina.
Ischaemia with no obstructed coronary arteries INOCA is a complex collection of functional disorders of the coronary blood vessels
Unfortunately there are too few Cardiologists with the knowledge needed to care for this group of patients
It was diagnosed after having a perfusion scan a couple of years ago as he became unstable after a few years of being OK apart from the usual pain on exertion.
Hi MRSRKA
I am really sorry to hear about your experience.
I have had some moments too in my over 7 year journey as well.
Largely due to the lack of knowledge about Microvascular and vasospastic angina that most Cardiologists and A&E doctors have.
Perhaps send a copy of this article in with your complaint.
