Hello all, I'm a 37 yr old with no previous health issues, only issue I've ever had in my life was chicken pox, I used go to the gym 6 days a week before lockdown but for the past few weeks I've been having severe chest pain when going up the stairs, I rushed to A&E and the doctors literally sent me back home saying I should take some pain killers.
I did a cholesterol test at a private clinic and discovered it was very high, I've gone back to A&E and they're saying my troponin test is negative and to go home and come back if it persist, so in other words come back after you've had a heart attack, not sure what to do.

It’s probably a good idea to contact your gp. They will have had the report from a&e anyway. You know what is and isn’t normal for you, so if something feels off get checked. they will check you over and will probably send you to chest pain clinic. (That’s what happened with me anyway) Then the tests happen. I hope it turns out to be nothing to worry about but if you were in enough pain for a&e then it’s definitely worth being checked. Good luck.
That’s a long time! Yes if you are worried definitely go back to a&e and try to stay calm, it’s difficult I know but it won’t help with chest pain if you get in a state. Be really clear with them about your symptoms. Good luck and let us know how you Get on.
I should add if you are currently getting chest pain please don’t drive and phone 999 instead! Then the paramedics can check you over too and no risk of driving while feeling unwell.
Don't abandon the GP route. There's a possibility that you have angina due to heart disease (there's also a possibility you just have indigestion!). If it persists you need your GP on side to refer to your local cardiac unit for specialist testing. 37 is young for angina, but unfortunately it's not unknown.
Hi, as per the feedback you’ve received I echo the same. Get in touch with your gp.
Mine is a slightly different story. I also suffered from chest pains, went into a and e, got it checked out and it turned off it to be muscular pain.
Inadvertently via an ecg and echodiagram, I come to find out that I have a bicuspid aortic valve heart condition, which I’ve apparently had since birth!
It’s crazy how things materialise, and apologies for deviating but I wanted to share my experience.
