Dull chest and back pain
Hi Jahill
If it has been continues for 8 days I would definitely go to A&E. I had a HA 3 weeks ago, I had dull chest pains and upper stomach pains for 2 days before I went to A&E, thinking it was just heart burn or indigestion, turns out I had a blocked RCA and needed a stent. Any left arm or jaw pains? Good luck, hope that helps
You need to get it checked out. Better to walk into A&E then be stretchered. After a week this isn't going to fix itself.
Yes you're right just worried about getting covid19 at the hospital catch 22
I agree with Heythrop51 better to be checked out by a healthcare professional sooner rather than later.
Give 111 a call and they will advise you what to do.
Hospital staff are taking precautions to avoid infecting patients and themselves with covid 19.
Most paramedics are now arriving at calls wearing protective equipment. It's going to be a while until we see the faces of the staff caring for us in hospital too.
Good luck !
Phone 111 thay are requesting no one just turn up at the Hospital
then arrangements will be made for you to attend
If the pain goes away with rest it is possible you have angina. Either way you definitely need to get it checked out. As others have said, ring 111 and don't make light of your symptoms! Chest pain should never be ignored.
You write you've been seen by a private cardiologist who thinks it might be heartburn - did he/she have any recommendations, and are those helping?
If you're in the UK I'd think the best thing now would be to telephone your GP - the duty GP should be able to decide if you should be seen in the surgery, and when.
Please keep us updated.
Thanks I will do that ....the cardiologist I saw nearly 3 years ago recommended a type of heartburn medication which I took. The pain did stop for over a year but it comes back intermittently...this is the first time it is remaining constant
