Just had an Angioplasty ,not, It was a wire pressure test! It was confirmed that i have three vein narrowing with the "widow maker!" being the worst and the other two significant! They all cause concern but would require stentting over a lengthy area,"very difficult! "As i am "asymptomatic!," can walk without getting breathless, have no pain or other symptoms. Therefore he would not recommend stents or a triple bypass, but would put me on isorbride.Which i have been on since being told i needed an angioplastyl in October, As my viens were 50% blocked five years ago i had been led to believe i was already on it! D OES THIS MEAN THAT THE DRUG HELPED GIVE ME A BETTER READING?IF SO WHY DID HE WANT TO PUT ME ON IT? AS TO THE BYPASS IS IT A CASE OF DONT MEND IT COS THE RISK IS GREATER THAN LEAVING IT! A cardiac nurse will see me at home next week how bad is this for me? I think i understand it but maybe someone out there can shed more light on the matter thanks arrow1

please clarify my confusion
It must be a terribly uncertain and worrying time for you. But thankfully the cardiac nurse is coming to see you v soon, and should be well able to answer your questions and explain what action is being planned.
I always write down my questions, in advance, and summarise my current symptoms for such an appointment.
Hello arrow1
There has been a debate for quite sometime about whether stable angina without symptoms should be treated by stents.
The ISCHEMIA trial was published late last year. You may find this article helpful.

I agree with Kristin it can be very useful to write down any questions you may have.
If you feel you would like a fuller explanation perhaps contact your Cardiologist's secretary and ask for another appointment or an explanation by the Cardiologist in writing of their recommendations.
Thank you for your responses i will do that .I have followed the link re ischemia trials, very encouraging and it has given me a much more positive attitude re my future thanks again
Had 2 stents last April. Took 2 months to get back to some normality and found cardio rehabilitation courses very beneficial. One artery is still being managed through medication following pressure test. Follow your cardiac surgeons advice.
Thanks for that it might be useful if i had one
