Hi, my partner recently had a small heart attack followed by a massive one the next day and was rushed to hospital. He had 3 stents put in immediately.
He's been told he also has angina and needs a bypass.
How active should he be 3 weeks after the heart attack whilst waiting for the bypass?

I’m sure he should take it v steady till he’s had good professional cardiac advice, I rang the ward I had been in and got some immediate advice, and the number of a Cardiac Liaison Nurse to speak to.
Hi, thanks for replying. He went to see his doctors to get repeat prescription of the meds the hospital gave him and all she said was "plenty of rest"...and nothing else really.
He has had a letter from the rehabilitation centre but said he wouldn't be seen until after his bypass.
I think I will call the cardiac ward who discharged him and speak to them.
My father also had a small heart attack a week after my partner did and he had a stent fitted and the hospital he was in told him to go to his doctors for blood tests a week after discharge.
My partner's next hospital appt isn't until March!
Yes I'd definitely call the cardiac ward. The comment from your GP of plenty of rest and nothing else, sounds a lot like the advice that used to get given out 40 years age as the standard response to a heart attack.
