Bisoprolol and bilirubin

Does anyone know if there is any relationship, preferably medically documented, between use of bisoprolol and raised bilirubin? In May 2018, during an investigation into my heart condition, I was put on 2.5 mg bisoprolol. My bilirubin has been raised for years with no concern from my GP, in May last year it was 31, its now 41. Liver function is fine, I hardly ever drink. In September 2018 after my heart condition was established as mild atherosclerosis in my LAD, my bisoprolol dose was reduced to 1.25 mg. I'm 65, have never had high blood pressure or high cholesterol, I'm fit and healthy including cycling, gym, spinning classes, pilates etc. I'm concerned that bisoprolol is doing me more harm than good. In May 2018, I was also put on atorvastatin, aspirin and lansoprazole.

If you have hardened arteries you ain't got and healthy , you are at risk and it needs to be managed , nothing can reverse the narrowing apart from intervention not even diets or super foods .

Best thing Is to asses with your GP / healthcare assistant what the consequences are of stopping the meds.

I was on the Forrest on.my bike twice a week , ate well kept fit and o think that kept the angina at bay mist of the time but the bisoprolol , statin ,aspirin and amlopidine helped too :)

That's not something I've heard of in relation to bisoprolol. Perhaps you could ask your GP if you have Gilbert's syndrome? It causes a mildly raised bilirubin.

Thanks. I have had many more tests including an endoscopy and MRI scan and Gilbert's syndrome is confirmed.

Thanks for the update. Glad I was right. There are no serious consequences to having it which is good news xXx
