Starting rehab programme this Friday after an unexpected emergency procedure for a stent to be fitted. Medical team have said it's ok to fly to Spain in 2 weeks time, however, today's challenge is to deal with the travel insurance issue. Anybody within the community who can help with finding travel insurance given the circumstances?!

Michael - you’ll see a pinned post on this topic to the right of this page - there’s a variety of advice and recommendations. Alternatively search travel insurance lots of previous requests. The good news is that many insurance companies cover the procedure the difficulty you might come across is the timing. I’ve recently searched online and one of the questions they ask is whether you had treatment within the last 6 weeks, it might be worth speaking to someone directly or possibly using a broker - it will be more expensive than before but Europe not too bad.

Try All Clear they are good brokers, they found me cover for Tunisia when I was on the waiting list for a bypass, just needed a letter from the consultant confirming I was allowed to fly.

Hello. I recently had a procedure for a stent and had a holiday booked to Jamaica. I found excellent cover off Staysure. It wasn’t cheap but they did cover my condition

Whoever you choose please ensure you read the cover fully. One company we used covered the medical condition but would only give limited medical cover which would just about cover repatriation costs.
