Hi Lynn. I think you’d have to check the details of your policy. I don’t think you need to inform them unless you take out a new policy. Do you have Critical Illness Insurance/Cover?

Then - my guess is you don’t have to inform them as you’re not claiming.

Fortunately I did have an element of Critical Illness insurance as well as life insurance. Claimed on the CI insurance and still paying same premium on Life Insurance. I think the fact that you’ve taken out the policy before the event means that you don’t need to inform them. But it might be best to check.

C Heck you policy but you shouldn’t have to but it may state you need to inform them. However they assessed your risk and premium when you took it out. If you subsequently have a health issue that is not to affect your cover / premium etc.

You sure you don’t have Critical Health?

Take care

In General, I always advise to buy life insurance, because no one knows what might happen to you tomorrow. This is especially for people who have an addiction. Such a person cannot control himself and unfortunately his family may suffer because of this. In addition, very often we don't know whether our loved ones have an addiction. Therefore, at the first symptoms, I advise test addictive behaviors(fherehab.com/learning/addic... to start treatment as soon as possible.
