Hello i have HPLHS and every year around this time i always get the flew (a cold) wich then turns into the chest infection and tyhen i pull a muscle in my chest due to the non-stop coughing, lose sleep and don't concentrate as much as i need to. But when i started my GCSE's i started to take a some sustained release vitamin c wich basically ups your immune system and since i started taking them (2 years ago) i havn't had a chest infection or pulled any muscles due to coughing. I AM NOT it is definitely going to work im just putting it out there as somthing you can try out yourself i take 2 a day 1 in the morning and one at night.

Hi Jake, interested in your story. My grandaughter has single ventricle plus several other problems. She has had a Fontan completed when she was thirteen. She will be 24 in February.

Like you she struggled at school with very little support.

She finds w inter a difficult time and is also taking Vitamin C.

Heart transplant was mentioned some years ago, but she has pulmonary stenosis and a mitral valve probem too. So it would be heart/lung.

I continue to be amazed at the bravery of children such as you and her. Make the rest of us feel like wimps.

I have recently had valve replacement and think of the surgery you must have gone through.

Freya had five open heart surgeries and I am sure you have had a similar amount. You must have spent a lot of time in hospital and that affects your education.

Keep well Jake and I will watch for your posts.
