Hello
After over a year I still get pains in ribs at times and all other places
6 weeks is nothing you will still be healing it will take time x
i would agree with your other comment, I am ten months post quad and just last Saturday after some cycling I now have a physical pain at my lower sternum from the vibrations on the road. I had something similar a few months back from the same thing. Something we have to love with it seems for quite a while 😉 !!
I still get a pain in the lower left rib 3 years later I’m afraid.
As has been said it is still very early days for you and you will gets lots of pains/aches in weird places and they do go away.
Your body after a bypass is like it has been hit by a bus. You are in the early days still, baby steps, no lifting anything of weight like the kettle and no putting your arms up above your shoulders. Please try not to worry as it is normal to get pains in your ribs, joints and muscles. Remember your nerves are trying to heal as you have had extensive surgery my lovely. I had my Quadruple 7 years ago and I have learned to listen to my body when trying to do things.
Thank you
I don't have personal experience of a heart bypass, but as an ex-nurse i can support what MumaLines says
The physical and surgical trauma experienced by your ribs, the connective tissues, nerves, blood supply etc is very extensive. I takes time for everything to repair, tissues are inflamed and can be painful for a long time.
I hope you pains ease soon, meanwhile be kind to yourself
