Hi Manhattan,

Yes, I have. When my heart attack took place, the pain radiated from the middle of my chest, into my jaw and right hand side first. I felt it predominantly more in my right side than my left. I still experience some of my worst spasms from vasospastic angina in my right side.

Women experience cardiac and heart attack related symptoms sometimes differently to men. Right sided chest pain has a higher occurrence in women compared to men. Right sided chest pain is not always acknowledged as cardiac by doctors, but it definitely should be.

I hope you will call 111 for advice or have someone take you to A&E to be on the safe side.

Take care.

Tos

Hi - not wanting to alarm you but honestly I wouldn’t wait til it happens again - when I had a HA I had no chest pain, but radiating pain (can’t actually call it pain) in shoulder blades + a feeling that radiated down both arms to the elbow- it then went off but I went to A&E next day and was a NSTEMI - angiogram and ballooning sorted it - could kick myself for not going when it happened as should. It have waited - Get yourself checked out now just in case anything going on - don’t put it off like I did

Hi, Hope you're feeling better now.

I would see your GP about that as soon as possible. My advice is to call for a GP appointment in the morning and describe what happened to the receptionist when you book the appointment. Alternatively, call 111.

I know it may not seem like it was that bad because it went away but it was bad enough for you to come on here to ask this question. So, I bet wondering what it was is nagging at you and if it is, then that's your body telling you to get it checked out.

The reason I say all this is because I had similar symptoms, alongside some other symptoms, and I wish I'd got it all checked out before I had my heart attack.

I almost didn't get checked out when I actually had my heart attack because after a few minutes the pain passed and the last thing I thought had happened was a blooming heart attack!

I didn't tell anyone about it either, so it's thanks to my brain for nagging me to get checked out that I spoke to 111, who wanted to send me an ambulance. I said don't be daft but they put the fear of god in me and I agreed I'd get a friend to take me to A&E.

It was there that they diagnosed my heart attack and I had a couple of stents fitted the next day. I hate to think what would have happened if I'd ignored that weird chest pain and my nagging brain.

Now, when it comes to chest pain, I always say better to be safe than sorry!

All the best and do let us know how you get on.

thanks Bee.. did you attend A&E while you still had the pain or had it gone away by then?

It was well gone. The heart attack only lasted a few minutes.

I completely agree with your suggestion. This event that Manhattan described might be considered a warning sign. Please get yourself checked.

As Bee_Bear stated, “Better safe than sorry!”

Best wishes to you! ❤️

I had symptoms that only lasted 15minutes or so, different to yours ( I am male) more indigestion and heavy arms.

Got to where I was going, but something told me I should attend A&E, so took myself along for a chat with them, they did blood tests and found that I had had a Heart Attack. 2 Stents later and I am in recovery now.

A trip to A&E may also put your mind at rest.

you should go to hospital ! I had a heart attack I thought was trapped wind . My wife called 111 they sent an ambulance . My heart was fine on their ECG but they insisted that I go to hospital to have a blood test to if my troponin levels had raised to determine if I’d had a cardiac event. I had two blood tests , I felt fine at hospital, was walking around in my shorts , vests and sliders tanned and muscly , didn’t look like a heart attack victim at all. I was set to go home and getting fed up with waiting for the results , eventually a doctor called my wife and I into a room and said my first test was 74 which wasnt much of a concern and he just thought it wise to confirm with a second test then send me home, the second test came back 402 and confirmed I’d had a heart attack , he was as shocked as my wife and I . I had angiogram the following day and that showed severe blockages in at least 3 arteries . I ended up having quadruple bypass in July last year.

I css as not imagine what made g&t have happened if I didn’t go in for that blood test! It would no doubt have been a lot worse or fatal . They said I could’ve had a heart attack somewhere out on my farm and not berm able to make it back 🤦🏼. I only share this to impress upon you to go to hospital and don’t be afraid to call 111 ! Look after yourself .

My HA was pain in my jaw 3 times in the night , I actually went to the dentist the morning after thinking it was bad toothache, 3 days later I had a full blown one with unbelievable pain in my jaw , face, so get it checked out asap .Good luck

Absolutely please do have that checked out ASAP. That could be "just" bad heartburn, but you have no way of telling. I think the advice you'll get here is going to be VERY conservative. A lot of us have dismissed pain and other warning signs, to our own extreme regret...

yup if in any doubt GO!!!

I thought my HA was a pulled muscle, none of the classic symptoms. Only went to A&E because the nurse of 111 said she's calling me an ambulance. I drove there, waited nearly 2 hours and had my heart attack there.

Go get seen .

My experience is that as soon as you mention chest pain the NHS gets their act together pretty sharpish. Go for it!

Please go to hospital!! Don't ignore this. I had 3 heart attacks and I knew right away things were not right. Don't put your health at risk because it went away. It could be worse next time.
