travel insurance/Health questions
Hi Seagram, what sort of help, happy to try and assist
That's very kind Heart Star. I had the aortic valve replaced in 2011 and since then have been living a perfectly normal life without medication and without problem. I'm hoping to spend a couple of months travelling in Cuba, Cancun, Belize and Costa Rica (all safe areas). I will try and get travel Insurance but because I'm over 80 and had the heart operation I'm anticipating problems. The advice I'm looking for is what questions to expect and how I should answer them. I'm not looking to conceal anything because there is nothing to conceal. Any advice would be welcome. I have a list of insurance companies from British Heart Foundation
The questions will mainly deal with your health issues. They are not there to try and trip you up but to get an assessment of your condition and how high a risk you are. When I completed mine, three months post op, I had to have a follow up call, which in truth was easier than the endless online questions.
There will be insurance out there for you but your age and your heart condition it won't be cheap.
Let us know how you get on there are a few threads with some other insurance companies, might help
