I had to look this up - what is the problem, is the device not working or not correcting the irregular heart rhythm?

OK, so there is a follow up process, have you got a date in for seeing someone?

Maybe it just needs adjusting - is this a possibility?

It is possible to have an icd adjusted. It is done under an echocardiogram. I have had mine tweaked about three times.

By my recollection ICD devices so not treat AF. Implantable devices only treated life threatening rhythms but I maybe wrong- been under a cardiologist 20 years but and electrophysiology cardiologist for only 2 of those and did not need a device.

Typically treatments for AF include minimising stroke risk with Anti-Coagulation and rate control, Ablation to try and destroy the arrhythmia starting tissue or cardioversion. But if you have been in AF I am sure you already know the treatment options.

Sorry to hear of the set back.

Just came across this and wanted to add the following based on my experience.

An INC (Implantable Cardivertor / Defibrillator) did not stop my AF. It just sits there waiting for me to develop more serious, life threatening, arrhythmia's in the Ventricles.

Like you I had a ICD but was also on Amiodaron to stop the AF. My AF broke through the Amiodaron and now I am having a CRT-D (Pace and Ablate)
