I can't find my pulse in that area, but it sounds to me as though you may have located a portion of your iliac artery. Do bear in mind that I'm not medically trained. Here's some info about the common iliac artery:

Your GP can quickly confirm that all is OK. It might be worth having a word with them if suddenly aware of a pulse in what seems to be an unusual area. Best to be sure that all is well.

thank you for your reply and the information. I will give them a ring.

I feel a strong pulse through my left side when lie done and have had what you explain in that area. I have it all the time in left side chest area, neck, and head (it’s like a thumping in my head especially if I have over did it) and it’s very strong to the point I can see my clothes vibrating, the curls in my hair shake😂. I laugh but Seriously I just can’t relax.

from your bio I can see you are definitely a complex case, I get labelled “complex” when I explain my congenital defect, the pharmacist usually says ok thanks for explaining I’ll just put you down as “complex” 😁 I’ve had it across my tummy but only lasted a day or two. Hope it resolves for you, weird and complex our bodies!

I frequently feel a very strong pulse in my stomach when I lie down, but not experienced in my back (yet).........

If I lie down on the bed straight after getting out of a particularly hot bath then I feel that same very strong pulse in my lower back. It goes away after a few minutes. I suspect that the pulse is simply a sign that my heart is working harder to pump blood into my skin surface to return my body temperature to a normal level. I would imagine it would be the same if I laid down straight after strenuous effort/exercise when the heart has been working harder pumping blood around muscles. I’m sure this must be quite normal but I’m no medical professional. Rather that be anxious about it, maybe have a quick word with your GP to allay any concern?

at least I'm not the only one. I'm guessing it's probably normal

Omaprozol helped me. Could be a bit of acid getting up a bit high. Worth trying. Can sleep better.

I know this is an old post but wonder if you discovered the reason? I have been experiencing a strong beat in my lower back for a few weeks now.It is not continuous but getting more frequent and prolonged.I also have pulsatile tinnitus which started about the same time.Do you still get the pulse in your back?

Hey. I had it for a few weeks and then it stopped. Did mention it to my heart team but they weren't sure what it could be. I've not had it since. Hope it stops for you but do mention is to your GP or heart team x

Thank you for quick response.Mentioned it to GP who didn't know what it could be but didn't offer any advice.Something must be causing it and I just want to know why it is happening so frequently.

You are welcome. Hopefully you can get some answers or it stops for you. I put mine down to my heart working to hard and because it's very weak I was just feeling it more. But as I said not had any since x
