How's everyday life for you at the moment?

It's seems to me to be a very odd time, maybe it's because the days are dark and the evenings are upon us early, whatever it is, I'm don't care for it much.

I hope you're feeling okay and coping well.

Oh, that’s just the pits Kenny, I could say so much……really awful.

Horrible neighbours can make your life hell!

I hope the news is positive from the vets.

At the old place I put up with noise problems from upstairs for too long and I did put in complaints to the noise department and to the letting agency but nothing got done about it and it was the early May bank holiday back in 2022 and it was 4pm and they were being noisy and I had had enough so what I did was got a broom and on the stepladder and banged the ceiling!

In the August of 2022 after everyone got those eviction notices they moved out and everyone in the area was happy when they left and they left piles of rubbish piled up in revenge for being thrown out!

They had annoyed next door as well with the noise!

I don't like the vets either in case they give us bad news and tell us things we don't want to hear!

Baby is great and nearly 21 and sends her best wishes to Bonnie!

That’s awful Kenny, who would do that 😡 We seem to be living at the vets atm, just one thing after another 🙄.

Neighbours can be a real pain. We’re fairly lucky where we are now. Only had words with one but they don’t live there & rarely visit thank goodness. 😅

At present during the evenings from 4/7 Monday to Friday we are doing a saving energy during peak times with our energy company in order to save £12 off our bills which we achieved and it runs until the end if December as well!

£12 is £12 off and better than nothing!

I have done some Saturday evenings out at the village hall which I have really enjoyed and I am also still going to swimming but didn't go today as I had business to do in town but I will be there tomorrow and Thursday this week!

I have been enjoying a chicken casserole which is chicken and swede, carrot and cabbage which I made on Sunday and have had 4 meals out of the one chicken which is better value than £30 for Sunday lunch at the pub!

We decided best thing to do is give those Sunday dinners at the local pub a miss in the future going forward!

Great idea Turnipgirl

As you say £12 is money you wouldn't have saved otherwise.

Love your casseroles, you have some super nutritious meals, smashing x

Life isn’t great for me just now. All my get up & go has gone! I’m in just can’t be bothered mood. Christmas is looming lots of nights & days out planned but can’t work up any enthusiasm. Getting quite cross with myself. My brother in law has just gone into a care home he has cancer & although the place is spotlessly clean the staff are really helpful & kind it’s just a waiting room. They’re all just waiting. I know I should be out making the most of my life but I just can’t be bothered. As for the dark nights/ mornings yuk 😩

chloe40 profile image
chloe40Administrator in reply toCaza

Oh Caza

I had hoped you were feeling a bit better.

Oh that's tough news about your brother in law, I have someone in exactly the same position, it's horrible and I totally agree about 'waiting room' just horrible.

I don't mind the dark evenings but it's the dark mornings I don't like!

Thing is its about doing what's right for you and if you can't be bothered to make the most of life then you have my blessing not to as you don't have to do anything you don't want to do!

That’s an awful lot of worry and stress for you.

You know we’re here for you always x

That’s a lot to contend with. My adult son came back to live with us. He’s been helpful with my husband who’s been & is unwell. Although it’s not what I would’ve of wished for him. He went through a very bitter divorce. It takes its toll. Really feel for you big hugs x

I’ve always gone to bed early but now the dark evenings are here I go up even earlier. Half 6 sometimes. watch my phone for a while and Google alsorts. Radio on. My two little dogs like to get curled up with me and I hope it’ll save on energy bill in the long term. No normality at the moment, dad’s funeral next Wednesday and seeing celebrant tomorrow. Hopefully all be sorted then for his ‘grand finale’.

The replies to your question Chloe are quite harrowing and I think we find the strength to cope with all these awful things because our grief has given us strength to.

Take care all 🦊x

Hi Bingofox007

Good to hear from you!

Well I’ve beaten you by 15 mins! PJs on at 6.15 ready to read, awful isn’t it, but it’s cozy.

Lovely that you have the company of your lovely dogs, that’s comforting.

Difficult time for you and I hope all goes well. But please look after yourself meantime x

They really are heartbreaking to read, and difficult for me too, as I have come to know many of you over the years x

Sending strength and love to everyone x

Bless ya. You can’t beat pjs n early to bed, love my bed, always been an early riser as my late husband was a postman so day started at half 4. Got a new dulce gusto coffee machine on bedside cabinet too now so I’m sorted for dark nights and insomnia/early mornings.

Thank you for your kind words.

Take care 🦊x

I’d go to bed early if it wasn’t for my dog & son I must admit. A coffee machine now you’re talking. Can’t complain I get coffee brought up every morning about 6. Put my electric blanket on & read until 8 lovely.

I put my pyjamas on at 3pm this afternoon when I came home from swimming and a job interview as I have done everything I promised to have done today so why not?

If I don't get today's job I'm not going to get heartbroken over it but it's all great experience to go through!

I'm interviewing on Friday coming in Newport which will be a day out and also next Thursday in Barry which will be another day out to look forward to!

Yesterday was the depressing job centre appointment at 1 45pm so I couldn't do my usual swim yesterday but had a walk in the park instead which I enjoyed!

Thankfully my next appointment at the depressing job centre is at 3pm the Monday after next and at least with 3pm it's out of the way not like 1.45pm is so I can fit in an early swim that day, have lunch in town and then do the depressing job centre at 3!

Busy busy, glad you’ll be able to get your swim in. Relaxing is so important and doesn’t just mean sitting on your bottom all day. Well done. Take care 🦊x

In regard to the next depressing job centre appointment the Monday after next I have asked my sister in law to come with me for support and she says she is happy to do so!

Another friend of mine says how he gets extremely anxious before those appointments when I said how the one on Tuesday had made me feel depressed about things when they referred me to the restart scheme and he says they do everyone who has been claiming a certain amount of time so it's not personal!

I'm OK now with it all after having talked things through and saying how I find those jobcentre appointments depressing but thankfully I don't have to worry about it now until a week on Monday!

This morning it's swimming and a day free of booked appointments!

Hi chloe. Hi everyone. Not alot happening. I have cleared out the pantry and chucked stuff...that always gives me a sense of satisfaction .Don't like these dark early evenings : -(

chloe40 profile image
chloe40Administrator in reply toSkyp

Hi Skyp

It seems ages since we heard from you, do hope all is well for you?

Oh yes, a 'clear out' nothing beats it !

I've been clearing clothes etc, gradually going through all the 'stuff' we acquire, after congratulating myself I suddenly thought, 'This is what people do when they think the worst is near' so I didn't do any this week. And I only have the kitchen left to do.....maybe next week x

Caza profile image
Caza in reply tochloe40

That made me smile, only have a clear out when the worst is feared!! I must start again once I get over this woe is me mood. I found a little ring box the other day, in the back of one of my cupboards. I must of known about it & put it there. I don’t remember it at all must of blocked it out. Inside are two of my mums rings a lock of her hair & a note to my daughter with love from granny. I thought I’d given away all her jewellery & now there’s two more rings. I give up 🤦‍♀️!!

Of course you are Sandradsn

I adore cats, they are so comforting and I think loyal as are dogs. It hurts when we lose them, totally understandable x
