How you doing this weekend?

Such a miserable day today, not sure what it's like where you are, seems to match the current news doesn't it?

Have you been locked down again and how is this affecting your emotions?

Sending love and support

Yes we have been locked down again here in Cardiff so for today due to it being miserable decided on a day indoors watching DVDs and old episodes of coronation st from 1985.

The weather here in Cardiff is miserable as well so a day in with DVDs is the best option!

Now time has gone by I feel that the government have accidentally done me a favour in locking us down in Cardiff as due to the fact its raining today we probably wouldn't have enjoyed our planned day out anyway and don't have to wear a mask at home as you do in public places now and on the train so have been spared of that and they have also saved me money on travel and going out expenses so yes by accident I feel they have done me a favour although it hurt at first when I first found out the things were cancelled.

Perhaps we are better off doing those plans another time in the spring when the days are lighter and stick with the videos in for now.

Sounds like a plan, the weather is awful here in London too and for the first time in a while I haven't anything to do, so I sort out a book and just relax.

Ha ha! well that's a very positive way to look at it :-)

Hi all. Its a bit quiet here so i thought I'd join in. At just after 7am , I'm looking out of the window at this perpetual misery.

Friday , i attended a covid safe funeral. An old friend passed away suddenly one morning. he was very well attended, inside and out and we were able to pay out respects to the family after. Being 58 , over a costa coffee, these events make me think of my own life as i did when mum died over 3 years ago. The day forced me to reassess what i knew of him and indeed how little. I learnt much more though from his eulogy and can even reflect on the purpose of this tribute.

So i am having a catch-up but restful weekend. I cant stop glancing out of the window and even when its not raining it looks miserable. So before tea i must attack the re-cycling bin ready for Tuesday night.

I am going to dedicate as much time to planning Christmas and a safe Winter. Recently i treated myself to a hand blender so i plan to spend much time learning how to make soups instead of snacking.

I hope all of you are preparing well for winter!

I'm sorry about your friend Greyone

I was surprised but pleased to read the funeral was well attended considering it was Covid related, have they relaxed the rules?

These things do make us thinking about our own mortality don't they? but try not to dwell on it. It certainly doesn't help having such miserable days but I'm really pleased that you are making plans for Christmas and more so that you have bought a blender for soups, that will do you a great deal of good.
