without too much distress, and I for one am grateful to get back to mundane activities before thinking ahead of what I'd like to change this year.

How about you?

My Christmas journey was spent in the quiet coach. Not having to think about who, why, when and what was a great relief. I'm a big fan of covert resolutions because people react in many different ways and usually none that I like. However, there are benefits for doing this under the veil of anonymity.

Now that is very true Greyone I subscribe to that myself!

So glad that's all over chloe40 .

This year I am choosing to live in a way that l can be kind to myself and others, find enjoyment in each new day, write down three things I am thankful for each day and to be open to try new things - starting with Laughing Yoga this week,

Hi Lottiesweb, any news of the laughing yoga.

I have been very inspired by your resolution to be open to try new things. It reminds me of something I heard called the Big Five.

I hope your year is rewarding you already.

in reply toGreyone

Hello Greyone , I did not make the laughing yoga in January - was not the right time for me on the day. However, I have my name down for the same on Feb 12 so will let you know.

Meanwhile Seaquest Seawatch was amazing. Saw a pod of c30 common dolphins displaying body slamming, a beautiful sight.

Also back to Make 'n' Take craft, meeting two ladies outside of this group - possible new friendship? and of course the beach with my little dog.

How are you Greyone? Hope your New Year has started well, do you have new things in store that you hope to try?

Good luck with that anyway.

I gave up swimming last year to prove to myself that I could save money and only missed my target by £4.10 when I clean forgot about my mobile bill on the last day. But I'm ok with that cus I realised how much I could save without any real hardship.

I've moved on from that and you've inspired me to get back into it this afternoon instead of this evening. Then I'll be able to get a good nights sleep.

I've half decided that my new year's resolution should be to try and do better in all things. I got an offer of voluntary work this week but have not been able to take it up because of hospital commitments in March.

Hope you have got lots of other things planned for this year. Good luck.

Well done Greyone , it's great when a plan works. Be proud of yourself. I think it is important that any goals we set ourselves are achievable.

I am sure another opportunity for voluntary work will present itself when the time is right. As for me Greyone, I am sure opportunities will come along when they are ready. I already have my eye on a possible poetry group with the local MIND group, not sure when/if it is going to go ahead. All of a sudden the light of opportunity seems to be shining for me and I welcome it.

I have just been reading this post by Lawrence Jones about goals. lawrencejones.co.uk/blog/20...

I'm always interested in how people try to achieve big things, whether they call them resolutions, goals, achievements or by any other name. Mine sometimes last longer than a year so I'm going to take a few months to think of mine.

Good luck to everyone with coming up with yours!
