Some tips that helped me

Make time during the day to think about what’s happened, whether we spend that time alone or with a friend.

Plan what you will do in this time, perhaps thinking, writing or making something.

Use this period to create something to help you work through your feelings and worries.

Maybe a memory box to fill with photos of your loved one, trinkets, letters or just pieces of material/ribbon that remind you of them.

Yes, mysmugcat

I've found it really helps and spending a dedicated time helps prevent waking in the night thinking about these things.

I hope it helps you too x

Thanks May 3rd is the first anniversary my partner passed. I am nervous. I may work that day as I live alone. Ty

I think that is a very good idea mysmugcat

Always better to keep your mind occupied and focus on something else but remember to dedicate some time that day to acknowledge your loss. Whatever you feel will help you through the day.
