As a treat to myself for my birthday I had a Forever Bracelet fitted. For those of you who are unfamiliar with it, it’s a bracelet where there’s a very small tube like part that you can put hair & or ashes of your loved one.
Well my friend came round to wish me happy birthday & I told her. She was appalled, why on earth would you keep a lock of your dead daughter & sisters hair. What was I meant to do bin it 😡. Is it strange am I strange.

You are not strange,if you love your bracelet that's what matters.I'm sure it is a comfort to you.Its quite thoughtless of your friend to say that.I sometimes wish I'd kept some ashes to place somewhere special or close by.

I had a really busy & lovely birthday thank you. Best I’ve had for years & part of that was that I felt my daughter & my sister were included. My friend didn’t ask me about my daughters ashes, thank goodness. They’re here waiting for me to be mingled with her & scattered in the sea. I’m not sure she would’ve coped with that. Too much info me thinks 😂

hi it`s nothing to do with your friend maybe she`s not lost anyone close to understand.I`ve got my sons hair and hand prints in an envelope that was given to me by the hospital and if I was a jewellery type of guy I`d probably do the same as you.
No she hasn’t. But her daughter & mine were best friends so I sort of thought she’d get it. Got that wrong didn’t I 🙄It’s so sad isn’t it. I only built up the courage to look in “the bag” last year only to put it away again. Jewellery mobile etc….
You do what you need to do. Nothing wrong with wearing a talisman made with elements of those we miss.

No one has yet asked me about the bracelet, would I say if they asked, probably not. Yes we keep learning don’t we
Sometimes, people ask questions that they haven't earned the answer to, meaning that you don't have to answer if you don't want to.
Maybe come up with a response that you have in your back pocket in case someone takes you off guard with a question you don't want to answer. ❤️
