Anyone have fibromyalgia as well as BD

Hi i was wondering if anyone had fibromyalgia and could be part of BD or is it part of BD.

I don't think any of us can tell you if it's part of BD exactly, but there is certainly a cross over of symptoms between BD and fibro. Some docs diagnose fibro as a separate condition, just as they do arthritis and irritable bowel for example, but some docs include them under the umbrella of BD.

I was diagnosed with Behcets and Fibromyalgia in 2000 both at the same time and by the same consultant. He gave ne a research paper that showed a connection of Behcets Disease with Fibromyalgia. He classified it as a secondary condition, along with others such as Sjogrens [and others] as being prevelant in people with Behcets Disease. Other Doctors call it Arthralgia and even Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. I think it all depends on the Doctor as still some Doctors don't like the "Fibromyagia" word.

I was trying to find the paper on the internet to show but I found this in a book I have which is in a great book about behcets called Essential Guide to Behcets by Joanne Zeis. I was lucky because I also found it online at:-

Hi, I have severe ME and FM, my Doc thinks I might have Behcets but I've not been to London yet to see the specialist. It's hard to know what's what as so many conditions like them all cross over,

I have both but also think it may be found to be part of BD. More research is needed as I think this illness is not just a set of symptoms. People with it have different but similar symptoms.

I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia before I was diagnosed with Behcet's but never been told if the two are linked.

I went to the specialist in London for the second time yesterday he said I had Fibromyalgia but I didn't have Behcet's he said my ulcers and sores wasn't the same as he seen there with patients he has with Behcet's

I was diagnosed has having Behcet's by a Rumatoligist and my Doctors and was sent to London because my flare-ups was getting more regular. So do people with Fibromyalgia have some of the systems as people with Behcet's but not as bad?

Yes, I believe most do because this disease manifests itself as several others. The Fibro piece is more susceptible to stress and weather changes. Often I notice that first before the ulcer outbreak.
