Ahh when will this thing give me a break?

I went back to the hospital last week after a bad bout of mouth ulcers. The consultant stepped up my meds by giving me a high dose injection of steroids and started me on Azathioprine along side the Colchicine I was already taking. All was ok until Sunday............... I kept breaking out in sweats, went from hot to cold, got a migraine from hell, ached all over and lost my appetite. I am now only just feeling like I am back in the world of the living after spending Monday trying to function and get on with it, followed by Tues, Weds and most of Thurs totally out of it in bed. My G.P thinks my body threw a wobbly to all the meds and I being really lucky picked up a bug. Bug from hell I reckon. Already feeling run down with sores in my mouth and now this. Someone please tell me there is a light at the end of the tunnel!! I am so weak it's unbelievable.

Feel better today than I have done the rest of the week and have managed to get into work. I do the accounts for our family business and hate being off sick as feel that I am letting everyone down by being a whimp.

It sounds as if you may be going through a flare. The symptoms of headache from hell, sweats, and loss of appetite are all BD regular nasties.

Often the only way to deal with these symptoms is to rest, so you did the right thing to stay in bed for a while. I wish I could reassure you that things will get better. This blooming disease can make life hell, but some days are better than others.

Thanks for you comment. Cheered me up a bit to hear from a fellow BD sufferer.

DB sure can be hell.

Good news is I am feeling better than I did, but still not 100 percent.

Time will tell with the Azathioprine.
