Advice on fatigue with behcets
You just have to rest when you need it let others do things for you, not easy but I find that is all you can do
Thanks for the reply its the work I find difficult but don't want to give it up and feel isolated
I think you just have to listen to your body rest when you need to, and be realistic on what you can do, that doesn't mean being down heartened or beaten just think what I can't do today maybe I can tomorrow xx
If you have an employer then talk with Occupational Health as to what arrangements can be made for you. The Disability Discrimination Act requires workplaces to make alterations to ensure there is no discrimination for a disabled person. I know what you mean though as I lost my job due to my health 2 years ago and miss it intensely.
I also see Occupational Therapists at the hospital - it would be worth a referral. They will help with equipment and with pacing. Get your Vitamin D level tested too if you haven't. It can make a big difference. Good luck. x
I had issues with fatigue for several years, until eventually I was put on Infliximab and have now had a real good spell for six years. I thought I was finished with work but got a new lease of life. If you have been on a treatment for a year and it is not working speak to your specialist about it and try and get moved on to something else.
In the meantime remember that you have not caused this, so ride it out and adapt, and be realistic with yourself. When I was tired I was so frustrated with myself and those around me who did not seem to know what they were talking about when they said 'perk up' or 'you look fine'.
Good luck, all the best.
