81 year old

I am 81 years old. Suffered with Behcets Syndrome for most of my life. I was diagnosed in 1966 in Bronglais Hospital, Aberystwyth. I have taken Prednisolone daily ever since. I have cataracts on both eyes removed. I have had 9 hernia ops (due to steroids). It is a vile illness. But I always say, there is always somebody worse off than me.

Oh wow 1966 you were so lucky back then that somebody knew what was wrong with you. How did the doctor diagnose you, it must be an interesting story. It's a long time to live with pain and the many other ailments of this disease especially as we get older. Well done and what a great attitude. I always say we must stay strong and positive and enjoy the good days.

I had a swab taken from and ulcer on my scrotum. They told me that I was the 20th known case in the world at that time. I must say that I was lucky to have had the help of Prednisolone which had it's faults, but kept it under control.
