Hi Hun it depends really ! I have been suffering with severe mouth ulcers since May 2015 and then was referred to a rheumatologist and was seen in November . They have been really good and I have been on 7 weeks steroids and they have injected my hips and I have had b12 injections and colchicine . I've had blood test this week to see if they can put me on a long term drug which acts like a steroid but not as many side effects . Even now they are saying they think it is bd but it's a case I believe of waiting to see the effects that the meds will have! Hope that helps a little
I'm Italian but I know general Director of Bechet Institute in London. I'm suffering of BD and the only obsolute efficace Phrmaceutical is INFLIXIMAB, a biotehnological one.
I have suffered from terrible mouth ulcers and genital ulcers for the last 40 years big time. Try a natural toothpaste I use Aloe Vera Forever Bright without floride, it takes a while to work month or so but worth having a go. For the genital ulcers I was put on a large dosage of steroids which stopped them in their tracks then I was given Trimovate Cream which I use when they start getting sore, worked really well. I have given up coffee as these used to really irritate and make my mouth sore also crisps. Various other things but it is being aware of what your body is saying. I have also suffered terrible foot pain and various other bone pain. I was tested for vitamin D and found that I was quite deficient. Have been on tablets now for the last 8 days topping up my vitamin D, the difference is brilliant, have some aches but nothing like it was. Will take top up for 2 months then will be re-tested. My pain started with my feet and then gradually got worse. Hope this helps, all the best Biddy xx
