Have anybody experienced pain in their calf muscle? Where they can't bend it? And what did you do?

It can be a sign that your potassium or sodium are low. It might sound silly, but try eating at least one banana a day if you can, and see if that helps :)

Please don't panic with what I am about to say as it may not be. I had two blood clots in my leg, calf area up to my thighs to be exact. My calf tightened up and it was difficult to walk. I would not say it was sharp pain though so hopefully this is not what it is. When I went to the doc first time the woman was trying to get rid of me quickly, telling me it was a muscle strain and come back in 3 weeks. I had to hold my ground and convince her it was not a muscle pull. If I were you, I would go to the docs and get a scan to see if its a clot. Or at a minimal read up on symptoms of "Deep Vein Thrombosis" (DVT aka blood clot) If you go, you may need to be firm and demand a scan. Please don't panic. It may not be this. Good luck..

Both my ankles have been that way, it eventually went away. Some of it could be from pulled muscles. Bad footwear can cause all kinds of issues.

I am in the DVT camp. Have had 3 one in each calf and one in the groin. My gp measures 3 inch down from the knee cap then around the knee if they differ i sent straight off to hosp for scan and blood test. Not worth leaving the risk is to high. Good luck let us know what happens x

In my case, I had the first blood clot for nearly a month before I went to the doc. I thought it was a muscle pull or something. It was not getting better and I knew it was not muscle related after that amount of time. As a result of me waiting, my vein is basically destroyed and blood pools around my calf and gets real painful. The clot also calcified and is still there. My second clot, I was just about certain it was a clot and went in and got meds to break it up. That leg is in quite good shape, vein is not ruined, blood does not pool.

Get to the doc for your own sake, my opinion.

Groin DVT? Owch. That must not have been a very good situation. IF you don't mind sharing, what were your symptoms?

Hi Dan_NY

The first DVT I had symptoms all the usual stuff. When I was scanned as a matter of course at our hospital they scan from groin down thank god they did. They found the clot not me, because I have a lot of pain in my hips and lower back It had masked the pain in the groin. Major panic at hospital. After the meds were started the pain got a lot easier . 18 months later had more pain in the calf that had the first dvt. For some reason don't know why I asked the guy scanning me to check the other calf as well. He found a clot yet I had no pain or discomfort. So now I am on warfarin for the rest of my life and very wary of any feelings in my legs or any where else.
