I have finally been given the go ahead to go on holiday with my children. As a Behcets sufferer and the fact that i had bi-lateral clots in my lungs last year. Can anyone recommend anywhere to get good travel insurance please? x

going on holiday
Hi and glad you are taking a well deserved break. I have always travelled frequently during my 30 years with BD so I do have some experience.
As to travel insurance, I have never been able to get any but I take my EHIC with me and in the last 8 years only travelled in Europe. The reasons for this are that my immune system handles Europe pretty well ie weather, water food etc and on the odd occasion I have used my card have had excellent treatment. I stopped travelling long haul as I suffered terribly bad reactions and spent most of the hoiday poorly.
I take my meds with me, and my BEHCETS leaflet and also any important info and where needed I get it translated to the language of the country I am visiting. Nowadays I mostly keep to Italy, France and preferably Spain and have always managed in everyday.
Hope this helps

JustTravelCover were incredibly cheap for me, despite active Behçets affecting 'multiple organs' and high blood pressure (medicated). The first year I paid £100 for their annual worldwide cover. I've just renewed and paid just over £50 for an annual Europe policy (I did take off 'cancellation' cover which maybe made it cheaper. Everything online, too, with nobody to have to speak to and instant cover
