Numb Hands

Has anybody experienced numb hands and a sort of pins and needles feeling? Is this related to behcets?

Hi

I had this after having my son - when I had a behcet flare. It is inflamation pressure on carpel tunnel (or was in my case). I wear a wrist bandage at night and that controls it.

Yes I have experienced this! Exactly as you describe. I have mentioned it in passing to my docs, they have not asked much about it. Sian's explanation is very useful. I'm going to ask more next time I am in the Centre of Excellence.

Yes and yes. It mostly occurs for me at night. I've been told by the specialist i have carpal tunnel in both wrists-left more than the right. I also developped tennis elbow in both elbows now. Again,mostly at night or if carrying something for too long. All of this is caused by: inflammation. Everything is due to that- i even get a recurring plugged tear duct in my right eye. You can get splints for your hands/wrists to use at bedtime. It did help.

Hi Paige,

This sounds like Raynaud's disease which often walks hand in hand with Behcet's. It would be wise to speak to your consultant about on your next visit.

My hands give me a lot of trouble, including pins and needles plus numbness. I'm told it is part of Behçet's. Try resting them, including using wrist braces at times. In bed I raise them on pillows - much like putting your feet up. I find voltaren and neurophen gels help - not sure what they are called over there.

Hi there

Yes, this has happened to me. It got so bad with numbness and also electric shock type sensations that I was sent for another MRI. Turns out it was a problem with three discs in my spine which were damaging my spinal-cord. I had to have an ACDF operation in August to relieve this.

Was told by neurosurgeon it had nothing at all to do with BD. Just bad luck!

Yes I m having this prob too getting sick of it I having numbness burning needle pinching like pain In my hands arms elbows n legs n feet it got worst at night cannot hold anything longer agrevates wen I lift Sth i m having these problems from many yrs no medicine is responding not orally nor localy plz help me if someone have any solution
